Raise, Tokyo
Sky high nightlife sound with Void Acoustics
Twenty-seven metres above Tokyo’s prestigious Ginza district, Raise delivers a VIP nightclub experience against one of the city’s most spectacular backdrops. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames panoramic skyline views, while inside, striking interiors, immersive lighting and bespoke silver KROME Void Acoustics loudspeakers combine to create a venue where sound is as much a part of the design as the architecture itself.
Owned by leading Japanese venue operator Lounge Operation, Raise was built to redefine the nightlife experience. That vision demanded an audio system capable of delivering exceptional clarity, powerful low-end performance and the flexibility to support everything from intimate VIP evenings to high-energy club nights.
Designed to stand out
Raise marked the first Void Acoustics installation for Lounge Operation, following a request from the venue’s General Manager, a long-time supporter of the brand. Void was selected not only for its exceptional audio performance, but also for its distinctive design aesthetic, with bespoke silver KROME finishes complementing the club’s futuristic interior.
The system was designed and installed by Eastaudio Inc and Tokyo Sound System Laboratory, Void Acoustics’ long-standing exclusive distributor in Japan. Despite significant installation constraints, the team delivered a balanced, immersive soundscape that combines exceptional clarity with powerful low-frequency performance throughout the venue. Alongside the venue’s bespoke Tri Motion and Airten V3 loudspeakers, the installation also features the first Arcline 218 subwoofer deployed in Japan.

Tocci Satoru, Director of Eastaudio Inc and Tokyo Sound System Laboratory“The General Manager was a long-time fan of Void Acoustics and was keen to see the brand deployed throughout the club, not only for its exceptional audio performance, but also for the distinctive design aesthetic of the products.”
Built around the impossible
One of the project’s greatest challenges came from the building itself. With no internal walls available for mounting loudspeakers, the entire sound system had to be supported using bespoke structures, requiring the installation team to rethink conventional nightclub installation methods.
The venue’s unique glass construction also presented acoustic challenges. While the polyhedral glazing eliminates parallel reflective surfaces and reduces standing waves, the twenty-seven-metre-high ceiling and inward-sloping glass frontage required careful management of low-frequency energy. To minimise noise spill while maintaining impactful bass, the team improved structural absorption and incorporated a Forward Directivity Isolator (F.D.I.) system, enhancing directivity, suppressing resonance and delivering tighter, more natural low-frequency performance.
A dedicated Venu 215 V2 subwoofer was also integrated behind the Royal VIP seating area, creating the enhanced bass experience specifically requested by the operator.

Raising the standard
The completed installation delivers a luxurious, high-definition sound experience that complements Raise’s premium atmosphere and supports a wide variety of music genres. Combining exceptional sonic performance with striking visual design, the system has become an integral part of one of Tokyo’s most distinctive nightlife destinations.
“The sound quality and aesthetics of Void Acoustics complements our high end club perfectly. The sound system can accommodate a wide variety of music genres. Also, the bespoke silver KROME finish is a significant visual addition to the interior design of Raise Tokyo.”
