With guest satisfaction central to its ethos, Cape Weligama sought a premium audio solution that would integrate seamlessly with its elegant architecture while enhancing its signature atmosphere. Building on the success of their collaboration at Kayaam House, the resort’s parent group, Resplendent Ceylon, once again partnered with Sri Lankan distributor and integrator Digital Ear Pvt Ltd, Void Acoustics’ regional partner with more than five years’ experience in creating premium audio environments.

Building a five-star soundscape
The resort’s management wanted to replace an under performing legacy system with a powerful, flexible and aesthetically impactful solution. The key challenge was delivering this upgrade within a tight installation timeline, ensuring minimal visual intrusion while maximising performance across key hospitality zones.
Two central areas were selected for the upgrade:
- The Atlas – Cape Weligama’s all-day dining venue now features Void’s Cyclone 55 weather-resistant loudspeakers powered by a Void Bias D1+ amplifier. The system delivers warm, ambient sound at low volumes, ideal for creating a relaxed yet immersive dining environment.
- The Society – A refined tea lounge by day and vibrant sundowner space by night, The Society required a versatile system to support both moods. Digital Ear installed a combination of Cyclone 55 and Cyclone 4 speakers, powered by the Void Inca 500 amplifier, to enable seamless transitions in audio dynamics.

Speaker placement was carefully mapped to complement the venue’s architecture, with all equipment chosen for its ability to perform without disrupting the resort’s visual identity. The result is a balanced, high-fidelity sound experience that feels organic.
The response to the Void Acoustic installations has been overwhelmingly positive. Staff appreciated the system’s user-friendliness, and guests relished in the immersive sound.
