Transforming a historic landmark with Void Acoustics
Transforming a 125-year-old church into a luxury hospitality destination is no small undertaking. After more than two and a half years of redevelopment, hospitality operator David Cardaci brought his vision to life with The Angeles nightclub and Holly Blue restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, creating a venue where historic architecture meets contemporary nightlife.
To match the venue’s ambitious vision, Void Acoustics was selected to deliver a tailored audio solution across every space. From boutique cocktail lounges and restaurant dining to the venue’s flagship nightclub, each area required its own carefully considered system while maintaining a consistent guest experience throughout.
A flagship system takes centre stage
At the heart of The Angeles is a 6,000-square-foot nightclub accommodating up to 700 guests. Here, Void Acoustics’ flagship Incubus System forms the centrepiece of the installation, combining the Air Array, Hyperfold and Incubus Sub into a cohesive solution designed to deliver exceptional output, controlled directivity and full-range performance.
Designed and optimised to perform as one, every horn-loaded element works together to maximise output while maintaining precise control across the dancefloor. Finished in a custom graphite grey, the installation complements the venue’s striking interior while making a bold visual statement that matches its sonic performance.
Additional support from Stasys 118, Venu 115 V2, Venu 215 V2 and Air Motion loudspeakers extends consistent coverage throughout the club, ensuring every guest experiences the same powerful, high-definition sound.

Tailored beyond the dancefloor
While the nightclub forms the centrepiece of the venue, the experience extends far beyond the main room. Marvin’s Room, an intimate VIP cocktail lounge, features Indigo 6 Pro loudspeakers and Indigo Sub speakers powered by a Bias Q1 amplifier, delivering refined, high-quality sound within the boutique setting.
At Holly Blue restaurant, Cyclone 8 and Cyclone Bass loudspeakers provide seamless coverage throughout the dining areas and outdoor veranda, creating a relaxed atmosphere that complements conversation while maintaining the same attention to audio quality found throughout the venue.
Together, the tailored installation allows every part of The Angeles to deliver its own distinct atmosphere, from relaxed dining and intimate cocktails to high-energy nightlife. By combining its flagship Incubus System with carefully specified solutions throughout the venue, Void Acoustics has helped transform a historic landmark into one of Fort Lauderdale’s most distinctive hospitality destinations.
