Void Acoustics reaches new heights in the Austrian Alps
High in the Austrian Alps, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, Onkel Willy’s Hütte is more than a traditional mountain restaurant. By day, it welcomes skiers and hikers for authentic Austrian cuisine, while by night it transforms into a lively après-ski destination.
The venue’s ambition was simple: deliver the best food, the best views and the best sound on the mountain. To achieve this, it required a powerful audio system capable of filling its outdoor terraces, creating atmosphere indoors and performing reliably in the harsh Alpine climate.
Working alongside MUSIKUSS Tonkultur, Void Acoustics supplied a bespoke system designed to withstand freezing temperatures while delivering exceptional sound throughout the venue.

Built for the outdoors
Installing a sound system at altitude presented several challenges. Alongside the demands of the Alpine climate, the venue’s exposed outdoor spaces required loudspeakers capable of delivering consistent coverage in an open environment, while the limited electrical supply added further complexity.
MUSIKUSS Tonkultur recommended a combination of products from the Air, Venu, Stasys, Indigo and Cyclone Series to create a solution tailored to each area of the venue.
The IP-55 rated Cyclone 55 provides weather-protected performance across the outdoor terraces, delivering clear, powerful audio despite the exposed mountain setting. Air Vantage loudspeakers and Stasys 218 subwoofers reinforce the outdoor experience, while Indigo 6 Pro and Venu 215 V2 create a warm, immersive atmosphere throughout the indoor restaurant.
Ready for après-ski
When the season reaches its peak, the venue transforms from relaxed dining destination into a lively party venue. For larger events, Airten V3 loudspeakers and Venu 215 subwoofers are deployed to deliver the output required for packed dancefloors of up to 400 guests.
The result is a flexible system that adapts effortlessly throughout the day, supporting everything from casual lunches to high-energy après-ski celebrations.
A mountain destination
Since installation, the system has helped establish Onkel Willy’s Hütte as one of the resort’s standout destinations. Positive feedback from guests and the venue’s continued investment in Void Acoustics reflects the success of the installation, with further expansion already planned.
