Dots Bay House brings its sound vision to life with Void Acoustics
Set on the beachfront in Hiriketiya, Dots Bay House is a 4,000-square-foot multipurpose destination encompassing a restaurant, yoga studio, pool, accommodation and club, with capacity for 1,000 guests.
Sound plays a central role in the venue’s identity. With a working partnership with Mixmag Asia and a programme of international DJs and performers, Dots Bay House wanted an audio system capable of meeting international standards while delivering a consistent experience across its club and restaurant areas.
Digital Ear Pvt Ltd, Void Acoustics’ exclusive distributor in Sri Lanka, recommended Void Acoustics following almost eight years working with the brand. Before making its decision, the Dots Bay House team visited several venues across Sri Lanka using Void and researched internationally renowned venues using Void systems.

From beachfront days to headline nights
The installation needed to work seamlessly during everyday operation and large-scale events, with the system carefully designed to maximise coverage and control sound within the property to minimise noise spill into neighbouring areas.
At the heart of the dance floor are two red Air Motion loudspeakers, chosen to combine exceptional performance with the visual impact requested by the client. They have since become a standout feature in guest photos, videos and social media content.
The Air Motions are paired with a single Arcline 218 subwoofer, delivering the required SPL and power from a compact enclosure suited to the limited dance floor space. A pair of Air 8 monitors provides accurate and powerful monitoring for visiting DJs while complementing the overall aesthetic of the venue.
Across the restaurant and outdoor areas, IP55-rated Cyclone 8 loudspeakers were selected with the beachfront environment in mind. They serve two roles, operating as the main system during daytime use and providing powerful fill during larger events.
Designed to perform under pressure
Careful loudspeaker positioning maximises coverage while maintaining control across the venue, an important consideration given the need to minimise sound spill into neighbouring areas. Bias Q2 and Q3 amplifiers power the dance floor system and DJ monitors, while Bias Q1.5 amplification powers the Cyclone 8s.
The project also came with a demanding deadline. The entire installation needed to be operational ahead of Dots Bay House’s Christmas and New Year celebrations, when the venue hosts between 1,200 and 1,500 guests. Despite the tight timeframe, Digital Ear delivered the complete system on schedule.

Since installation, the system has exceeded expectations, earning consistent praise from guests and performers for its quality, clarity and overall experience. Its success has also supported Dots Bay House’s growing reputation, attracting local and international recognition for its premium entertainment experiences.
Following the success of the installation, Dots Bay House is already looking ahead. Digital Ear is in discussions around further additions as the venue continues to expand, with Void Airten V3 monitors planned to further enhance clarity and precision.
