Void Acoustics Appoints Nathan Short as Head of Technical Services, North America
Following an 18-year relationship with Void Acoustics, Nathan Short joins full-time to lead technical support, commissioning and partner training across North America
Void Acoustics announces Nathan Short‘s appointment as Head of Technical Services, North America, strengthening its technical support across the region.
With more than 25 years of professional audio experience, Nathan brings extensive expertise in sound system design, DSP programming, acoustic measurement, tuning and commissioning. Having worked directly with Void as a technical consultant since 2016, his appointment recognises his contribution to the brand and reflects Void’s continued investment in its North American partners, integrators and customers.
Recently, at Avalon Hollywood, Nathan handled DSP programming and alignment for a bespoke permanent Void Acoustics Incubus System, integrating specialist immersive audio processing. At the nearby SIDEPIECE Hollywood Block Party, he tuned and operated an eight-point distributed Void system alongside Royal Sound & Lighting, creating an immersive experience while managing acoustic energy in an urban environment.
Nathan also commissioned the new Void Incubus System at NOVA in San Diego. Designed by John Lyons Systems, the installation features Air Array, Hyperfold, Incubus Sub and Tri-Motion loudspeakers.
In his new role, Nathan will oversee technical guidance, system commissioning and partner training, helping Void’s partners and customers achieve the best possible performance from their systems.
Nathan Short, Head of Technical Services, North America at Void Acoustics“My journey with Void started 18 years ago, when a trip to England with my business partner, Matt Edgar, led us to bring the first Void systems to the U.S. through AIS, now Pineapple Audio. For the past decade, I’ve worked directly with Void, commissioning and tuning systems around the world.
The part I love most is the tuning: taking a room full of loudspeakers and making it feel like one system. Joining full-time is the natural next step, and with the products we have coming, I’m excited to help shape what comes next for our customers, partners and the entire Void family.”
Sam Brandon, Managing Director at Void Acoustics“Nathan has been an important part of Void’s journey in North America for many years. He knows our products, understands the challenges our partners face and brings practical experience that’s incredibly valuable to the business.
As we continue to grow, it’s important that we’re investing in the people and expertise behind our products, not just the products themselves. Bringing Nathan into the team full-time builds on the work he’s already been doing and strengthens the support we can offer our partners and customers across North America. I’m really pleased to have him taking on this role.”
