Tucked away within the restored warehouses of Park Street Mews, Uncle’s Bar has become one of Colombo’s favourite destinations for drinks, live music and nightlife. The intimate venue hosts everything from acoustic performances and vinyl nights to disco sessions, reflecting the character of Park Street Mews, known locally as “The Street with Many Moods.”
Supporting such a varied programme required a sound system that could transition effortlessly throughout the evening. From relaxed background music to live performances and energetic DJ sessions, Void Acoustics was selected to deliver exceptional sound while preserving the welcoming social atmosphere that defines the venue.

Working with Digital Ear Pvt Ltd, Void Acoustics’ distributor in Sri Lanka, the team developed a tailored audio solution that balanced powerful performance with the practical demands of a compact hospitality venue. Drawing on experience across luxury hotels, rooftop bars and premium entertainment spaces, Digital Ear carefully designed a system that would perform consistently across every style of event.

Designed for atmosphere
One of the project’s biggest challenges was achieving clear, balanced sound without overwhelming conversation or the venue’s relaxed social environment. Limited space also meant the loudspeakers needed to occupy a minimal footprint while maintaining even coverage throughout the bar.
To meet these requirements, Uncle’s Bar selected Venu 10 V2 loudspeakers paired with a Venu 210i subwoofer. Specified in Barewood Natural Wood finish, the Venu 10 V2 loudspeakers integrate naturally with the venue’s warm, material-led interior. Showcasing the natural grain of the wood, the finish becomes part of the overall design while delivering the same proven Venu engineering and acoustic performance.
Careful speaker placement and system tuning ensured balanced, high-quality sound throughout the venue, allowing guests to enjoy conversation, live music and late-night entertainment with equal clarity and comfort.
