Trattoria del Ciumbia brings a contemporary take on the traditional Milanese trattoria to the heart of Brera. Combining authentic Italian cuisine with a carefully curated atmosphere, the 600-square-metre venue has quickly established itself as one of the district’s standout dining destinations.
While renowned for its fine dining experience, the restaurant transforms at weekends into a lively private event space with DJ performances, accommodating up to 200 guests. To stand out in one of Milan’s busiest districts, the venue needed a sound system capable of complementing both refined dining and energetic nightlife without compromising its carefully considered design.

Inspired by Ibiza
When General Manager Davide Ciancio created Trattoria del Ciumbia, he envisioned a nostalgic dining experience supported by exceptional sound. Having previously experienced Void Acoustics in Ibiza’s renowned clubs, he recognised the brand’s unique combination of sonic performance and distinctive design.
Working alongside long-standing Void Acoustics distributor Frenexport, the team developed a tailored audio solution to deliver consistent, crystal-clear coverage throughout the restaurant while supporting its day-to-night operation.
Designed to complement the space
The installation combines Venu 8 V2 and Venu 12 V2 loudspeakers with Arcline 118 systems, powered by Void Acoustics’ Bias amplifiers, providing balanced, high-quality sound throughout the venue.
Custom Venu 8 V2 loudspeakers in the vintage Natural Wood finish were selected to complement the restaurant’s warm material palette and contemporary interpretation of a traditional Milanese trattoria. Rather than standing apart from the interior, the loudspeakers become part of the design, adding warmth and texture while preserving the clean aesthetic of the space.
The result is a flexible sound system that provides refined background music throughout dining service before seamlessly transitioning into a vibrant soundtrack for weekend DJ sets and private events.
