From coffee to club culture with Void Acoustics

Once a music pavilion on the banks of the Traun River, Sissikuss has been reimagined as one of Bad Ischl’s most distinctive destinations. Housed in the beautifully restored 1883 building, the design-led concept combines a café with a carefully curated retail space, bringing together local craftsmanship, speciality coffee and contemporary culture under one roof.

Owners Katharina Wimmer and Kurt Weglehner wanted the compact venue to evolve throughout the day, transforming from a relaxed shopping and coffee destination into an intimate space for DJs and live musicians. That vision required a sound system capable of delivering exceptional audio while complementing the venue’s historic character and carefully considered interior.

Small space, big ambitions

Making the most of Sissikuss’ compact footprint meant every element of the installation had to work harder. The venue’s point-of-sale area was designed to transform into a dancefloor and performance space, requiring an audio solution that could seamlessly adapt from daytime background music to evening events without compromising the customer experience.

Working with Musikuss Tonkultur, Void Acoustics’ primary dealer and installer in Austria, Sissikuss selected two custom gold Indigo 6 Pro loudspeakers. The custom finish was chosen to complement the venue’s historic architecture and carefully curated interior, ensuring the sound system enhances the overall atmosphere as much as it does the audio experience.

Hidden performance

To preserve the clean aesthetic of the space, a Venu 208 subwoofer was discreetly integrated into the base of the point-of-sale unit, delivering powerful low-frequency performance without occupying valuable floor space. Paired with the compact Bias Q1 amplifier, the system provides crisp, clear audio for daytime background music before effortlessly transforming the venue into an atmospheric space for DJs and live performances.

The result is a flexible sound system that supports every stage of the Sissikuss experience, proving that exceptional performance doesn’t require a large footprint.

“Void Acoustics delivers the premium quality and adaptability that our customers are looking for in a sound system. The unique gold finish really adds something to the historic setting of Sissikuss.”
