Following an extensive renovation, Sydney’s iconic floating venue Glass Island has re-emerged with a renewed focus on premium entertainment experiences, where sound plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere across the vessel. For Scott Robertson, Owner of Luxe Cruising Group, selecting Void Acoustics was an easy decision.
Glass Island is a custom built, three level entertainment vessel moored in Sydney Harbour, designed to host everything from sunset sessions to internationally renowned DJs and late night events. The venue needed an audio solution capable of delivering powerful, high quality sound throughout the space, while also complementing its refined interior design.

Delivering premium sound at sea
Installation was carried out by Buzz Speaker Hire Pty Ltd, long time collaborators of both Luxe Cruising Group and Void Acoustics. One of the key challenges involved discreetly routing cabling between the exposed rooftop areas and the amplifier racks below deck, ensuring the installation preserved the venue’s clean architectural lines without compromising audio performance.
To achieve the desired balance of performance and visual integration, Glass Island was equipped with Void Acoustics Air Motion loudspeakers and Cyclone 10s, all finished in white to complement the venue’s clean, contemporary aesthetic. The system was selected to provide consistent coverage and musical clarity across the vessel’s multiple entertainment spaces, while maintaining the distinctive visual impact synonymous with Void Acoustics.

The combination of Air Motion and Cyclone 10s delivers an immersive sound experience with exceptional vocal clarity, controlled low frequency performance, and the energy required for high profile DJ events. Whether providing background atmosphere during daytime cruising or powering packed dance floors into the evening, the system maintains detail and balance at every level.
