When Paradiso Music Room opened its doors in Byron Bay, New South Wales, the aim was clear; to build a world-class nightlife venue with an equally world-class sound system. For Director Franco Giordano, the choice of audio partner would be critical to creating unforgettable experiences for touring artists and local audiences. 

Franco first discovered Void Acoustics through a contact at DB Technologies. He was immediately drawn to the striking design aesthetic, though he admits there was a moment of hesitation. Would the system sound as impressive as it looks?

That confidence quickly grew after consulting with experienced sound engineers and exploring Void’s reputation across Europe and Ibiza. Standing out against other major names in the sector, Void Acoustics impressed with both its outstanding performance and striking visual impact, true to the brand’s signature style.

Paradiso required a sound system that could articulate house, disco and dance music with precision, delivering sound at volume without harshness.

The Void system, featuring Air Motions, Stasys Xairs, Cyclone 55s and Venu 8 V2s, exceeded expectations, meeting the club’s high standards for an international audience. Hosting artists from around the globe, the system performs flawlessly amd impresses the venue’s guests.

The response from customers was overwhelming. “They have all been blown away by the quality sound experience,” Franco notes proudly. Guests consistently praise Paradiso as one of the best-sounding rooms in Australia, with many describing it as the most impressive sound they’ve heard nationwide. 

The Void speakers fit in perfectly with the sleek, modern design of the space, complementing its surroundings and impressing guests.

Franco highlights that the success of the installation goes beyond the equipment. Careful acoustic treatment and soundproofing played a huge role, ensuring the Void rig could perform at its peak.

“We spent significant time on acoustic treatment and soundproofing the club, which has been a major reason the rig sounds so good,” he says. The project also benefited from the expertise of local Sound Engineer and Void Distributor Rep (Audio Logistics) Alex Glover, whose guidance was instrumental throughout the process. He also praises Lava AV and Sean Latham for their meticulous and tidy installation work, as well as their assistance with commissioning the system. 

Reflecting on the installation, Franco has no doubts: “Void Acoustics sounds as good as it looks.”
