Contact usIn March 2025, Bazique Festival utilised Void Acoustics’ sound systems to deliver a weekend of outstanding music for festivalgoers under the South African sun. The three-day festival, held in Cape Town, entertained music lovers with DJs specialising in house, electronic, techno, disco, and more.
Apollo AV acted as the integrator for the project, working closely with Bazique Festival’s organisers to deliver a weekend to remember, marking the debut of Void’s Incubus System in Africa.
The South African event is a large-scale music festival featuring five stages with over 100 DJs, art installations, and workshops. This one-of-a-kind festival is brought to life by a collaborative group of 11 Cape Town-based party promoters, alongside hundreds of creatives, musicians, artists, and workshop leaders.
The festival is held annually in a stunning wilderness location, where people from around the world gather to celebrate art, music, dance, love, and consciousness. Apollo AV oversaw the two main stage setups, deploying Void Acoustics sound systems to create an unforgettable audio experience for over 4,500 guests.
Void Acoustics and Bazique Festival have been years in the making, born out of a long-standing relationship with Apollo AV. The partnership began when Apollo AV CEO Gordon Mackay visited the Void Acoustics UK office in 2013.
While listening to several sound systems in the Void demo room, the Incubus captured his attention completely, leading Apollo AV to become an official installer and distributor of Void Acoustics. Fast forward to 2025, when the Incubus system made its debut in the South African region at Bazique Festival.
When it came to organising the festival and bringing Void on board, co-founder Alex Skan travelled to Cape Town to deliver a first-hand demonstrate of Void’s capabilities, completely blowing away Bazique Festival organiser, Nick Ladd. With over 35 years of festival experience, Nick knew they had to use Void Acoustics as their sound system for the event.
I’ve been putting on electronic music events since 1999 and have always worked with the best PA brands available at the time. Void takes the sound experience to a completely different level. I clearly remember feeling the different frequencies hitting my body, something I had never experienced before with any other sound system. That was when I knew we had to use Void Acoustics for our festival. Since Apollo brought this rig to Cape Town last season, it has been all that any discerning electronic music lover has wanted to hear at the festival.
Bazique Festival attracted over 4,500 punters this year, who showered the look and sound of the Void Acoustics speakers with high praise. Not only do the speakers deliver a unique audio experience that leaves attendees with lasting memories of their favourite musicians and DJs’ performances, but their sleek design also enhances the visual appeal of the festival.
The Incubus System, in particular, has been a standout highlight for both festival guests and event organisers. Gordon Mackay, CEO of Apollo AV, and Nick Ladd, organiser of Bazique Festival, both speak highly of the sound quality, attendee satisfaction, and the unique experience created by Void.
I’ve been a big fan of Void Acoustics products since first hearing them in the UK fifteen years ago. We have a thriving boutique outdoor festival scene here, as well as a diverse and well developed club culture. Void is a favoured choice for many event organisers and venue owners who appreciate its exceptional sound and of course its striking design.
Bazique Festival is one of Cape Town’s most renowned festivals. We used the Incubus rig along with a large number of Void Air Series speakers. The sound of this setup was incredibly present, punchy and precise, and it was received exceptionally well by both the promoter and the crowd. There’s no doubt that the Void sound truly stands out.
The festival featured an extensive range of Void’s latest and greatest sound systems:
Mainstage:
1 x Incubus System
4 x Stasys Xair
2 x Tri Motion
2 x Stasys 118
2 x Air Vantage
10 x Bias Q5’s
Tropical Roast Stage:
4 x Stasys Xair
2 x Tri Motion
2 x Air Motion
2 x Arcline 218
4 x Bias Q5
Each stage was equipped to deliver precision coverage and immersive sound that kept audiences dancing deep into the night.
Void Acoustics’ showcase at Bazique Festival solidifies another successful installation at a major festival. Having previously worked with Boomtown Fair, the Vision and Colour Festival China, Glastonbury, and Notting Hill Carnival, Void Acoustics has established itself as a trusted distributor in the electronic music scene.
The teams at Void Acoustics and Apollo AV look forward to delivering more impeccable, unforgettable music experiences against Cape Town’s growing festival scene.
