Void Acoustics amplifies five-star hotel
Located in Barcelona’s historic Gothic Quarter, Kimpton Vividora is a sophisticated five-star hotel with a rooftop bar and pool. Seeking to modernise its sound system while complying with strict local noise regulations, the hotel required a solution capable of creating the right atmosphere throughout the venue, particularly across its restaurant and rooftop areas.
To deliver on its vision of combining luxury hospitality with Barcelona’s artistic culture, Kimpton sought an audio solution that could provide exceptional sound quality while meeting local sound level requirements.
Seeking a solution for strict sound regulations
The previous sound system at Kimpton did not comply with local sound level requirements and lacked the clarity and fidelity the hotel desired. Having been impressed by Void Acoustics during demonstrations at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Barcelona, Visualplanet recommended Void as the ideal solution.
Luxury sound with dynamic control
Visualplanet transformed the venue with Void Acoustics’ Cyclone 55 loudspeakers, using their precise sound direction to prevent the rooftop bar’s atmosphere from disturbing neighbouring properties. Cyclone 4 loudspeakers were installed throughout the hotel’s lounge areas to provide targeted, high-fidelity audio, while the restaurant’s ceiling speakers were replaced with Cirrus 6.1 loudspeakers to ensure smooth sound distribution at lower volumes.
Bias D1, Q1 and Q2 amplifiers were also installed, helping to deliver exceptional sound quality within the venue while maintaining strict noise control outside.

The result has been a complete success. The new Void Acoustics system adheres to local noise level requirements, allowing the hotel to deliver vibrant sound without disturbing neighbouring properties. The design of the loudspeakers also complements the hotel’s modern aesthetic.
Void Acoustics has also been used by Kimpton hotels around the world, including Kimpton Maa-Lai in Bangkok.
