A bespoke soundscape with Void Acoustics
Located in London’s bustling Covent Garden, Gilgamesh combines dining, nightlife, and immersive design within a 600 capacity venue. At the centre of the experience is a Void Acoustics sound system designed to complement the venue’s dramatic interiors while adapting seamlessly from daytime dining into late night entertainment.
With opening day fast approaching, the team had just eight weeks to design and install a complete audio solution across three distinct spaces, each with different operational requirements. The challenge was to create a unified sound experience while keeping the system visually discreet throughout the venue.
Transforming spaces from day to night
The Lounge operates as an all day restaurant requiring subtle background music, while Zion, the top floor VIP area, needed the flexibility to transition from dining space into nightlife environment. Babylon, Gilgamesh’s basement restaurant and club space, required a more powerful setup capable of supporting DJs and daily performances.
Working closely with Gavin Audio Visual, Gilgamesh selected a customised Void Acoustics solution centred around the Cyclone Series. Cyclone 10 and Cyclone 55 loudspeakers were integrated throughout the venue to deliver clear, balanced sound while complementing the venue’s visual aesthetic.
A key challenge was integrating subwoofers without compromising the venue’s design or available space. Void’s Venu 208 subwoofers provided the ideal solution, delivering powerful low frequency performance while remaining visually discreet across the restaurant and bar areas.
High praise for the final result
The installation was completed within the ambitious eight week schedule, with Riley Audio Visual coordinating closely with Void Acoustics throughout the project.
Since opening, Gilgamesh has received strong feedback for its sound quality and atmosphere, with visiting DJs and producers regularly praising the system’s clarity and performance.
By combining discreet integration with powerful performance, Void Acoustics has helped Gilgamesh create a sound environment capable of supporting everything from relaxed dining to high energy nightlife within one of London’s busiest hospitality destinations.
