Welcome to Technically Speaking, a bi-monthly blog created to inspire and educate all those who are configuring future projects using Void Acoustics products.
We hope you find the following content helpful.
Bias series amplifiers from Void Acoustics represent the state-of-the-art, exemplifying Voids commitment to high-fidelity. These amplifiers complement our loudspeakers perfectly to form the ideal partnership. Additionally, the Bias series provide installers with some serious signal processing tools and a feature set that goes beyond the conventional.
Here, we spotlight some of the key ‘under the hood’ features and technologies.
DSP:
Bias series amplifiers provide a full suite of DSP tools including advanced signal routing capabilities and integrated SMAART tuning, as well as all the tools you would expect for Mute, Phase, E.Q, Delay and Filtering. Active damping control is a useful tool to automatically calculate and compensate for longer cable runs. Bias amplifiers share a common control program and can easily be mixed and programmed in a single environment for larger installs.
Presets:
In the online marketplace you can access the Void presets, available only for Bias series. These presets include:
- Optimised E.Q curves
- Individual FIR filters to correct the time domain for improved transient response.
But perhaps the most powerful part of the preset is the trio of RMS, Peak and Clip limiters that have been carefully designed to provide maximum protection.
Hardware:
By default, Bias series have a fully automatic power sharing feature that operates automatically to provide additional power for peak signals. Bias series feature universal mains with power factor correction and are based on a Class-D design, known for its high efficiency and low power consumption. This low running cost can be demonstrated to clients for larger deployments using our comparison tool against third-party options.
Power:
The Bias series are available in dual-channel and quad-channel options, with various power levels to suit different your needs. The new '+' series now includes AES67 as standard.
