Contact usPerched on a hilltop on the southernmost tip of Bali island in Badung, White Rock Beach Club is a 3,000-capacity venue boasting breathtaking views over the Indian Ocean. It also features a spectacular Void Acoustics sound system throughout, offering a first class audio experience to the clubgoers lucky enough to visit this prestigious setting.
The brief was to provide a brand new system offering exceptional sonics whilst complementing the clean modern design of the beach-club’s architecture. “Void’s unique speaker design and fibreglass outers were the perfect solution, addressing the desire for a distinctive look,” explains Suwandi Anggono, Director of Audio and AV integrator Indoteknik. The company, who are Void’s exclusive distributor in Indonesia, completed the design, specification, and integration of the system in its entirety.
White Rock Beach Club is located on Melasti Beach and features an impressive DJ booth and lawn dance floor; cabanas; private suites; a restaurant; a pool bar accessible from the clifftop infinity pool and multiple seating areas to soak up the atmosphere. With such a variety of distinct spaces adding to the complexities of the installation, the Void kit list at White Rock Beach Club features speakers from the sculpted, IP-55 rated Cyclone Series and the futuristic Indigo Series.
The club is fully exposed to the outside environment from its clifftop location, so it was essential the speakers were robust in design and fully weatherproofed to withstand the elements. Cyclone 55, Cyclone 10 and Cyclone Bass fixtures were specified for the outdoor areas of the club with their UV resilient fibreglass finish able to withstand the hot sun. And with their weather protected IP-55 rating they can tolerate exposure to the salty sea air and coastal wind without fear of rusting or degrading the audio output. “A perfect combination adding to the overall aesthetic of the venue whilst embracing the harsh outdoor conditions,” nods Suwandi.
Additional consideration was given to all speaker positions to ensure even audio coverage throughout, whilst avoiding audio overlap. “We needed to ensure that the system produced clear sound even on windy days,” expands Suwandi. “The venue has a long footprint, across 7,500 square metres, and this configuration, combined with potential strong wind conditions on occasion, meant we had to precisely align the speakers to ensure the whole venue was covered.”
Other areas of the venue feature the Indigo 6S and Indigo Sub speakers providing versatile fixtures with a touch of stylish elegance perfect for bar and restaurants as well as beach clubs.
The recently re-furbished DJ booth is adorned by Venu 15 V2 – the largest of the Venu Series loudspeakers, Stasys 218 and Stasys 118 from Void’s flagship point source series.
The entire audio deployment is supported by Void’s easy to use Bias amplifiers.
This was a brand new installation for the club’s owner Robin Makmur, who had previously heard another Void Acoustics system elsewhere, and was inspired by the combination of audio excellence alongside the design aesthetic which features so heavily in all Void products. He knew he needed a similar system for his designer beach club.
