Finding a High-Altitude Sound System Worthy of the Peaks
The owners of Onkel Willy’s Hutte aim to make the venue a go-to destination for the ski resort, attracting passing skiers and hikers to stop for food and entertainment. Dishing out a traditional Austrian experience, Onkel Willy’s Hutte wants to deliver the best food, best views, and, of course, the best sounds in the surrounding ski resort.
The venue needed a powerful sound system capable of filling the outdoor space and withstanding the harsh Alpine climate. Freezing winter temperatures presented unique installation challenges for the speakers in the outdoor dining areas, as did the limited electrical supply up in the mountains.
Alongside the outdoor speaker challenge, the venue’s indoor spaces also needed a sound system capable of creating the perfect atmosphere for diners.
Speakers That Can Withstand the Elements and Provide the Entertainment
The Cyclone series is the market-leading solution for outdoor spaces due to its compact size and weather-protected IP-55 rating. The Cyclone series is used in the outdoor terrace space at Onkel Willy’s Hutte, cutting through the open-air environment of the Austrian Alps with crisp, clean audio. Air Vantage and Stasys 218 speakers are also installed around the outdoor section, whilst the Indigo Pro and Venu speakers inside the hut offer visitors exceptional sound quality and a striking design.
This setup delivers on the venue’s DJ requirements for peak-season events. When the hut needs to crank up the volume, it houses a set of easy-to-install Airten V3 and Venu 215 speakers that they bring out for larger events. Housing up to 400 people at max capacity, the wide range of Void speakers powering the dancefloor has made Onkel Willy’s Hutte a must-hear experience for resort visitors.
A Snowy Success Story for Onkel Willy’s Hutte
The results speak for themselves as the owners are thrilled with the new sound system, with positive feedback rolling in from the venue’s guests. Onkel Willy's Hutte has become the go-to spot on the slopes, attracting more visitors and solidifying its reputation as an apres-ski destination. The current Void Acoustics sound system has been so successful that Onkel Willy’s Hutte already have plans to add more to the current set-up.
